Here I was getting ready to take the dogs for a little walk and then what I thought was wind turned out to be rain. Ugh I hate being rained in for the day especially when I dont have to go to school.

Today I decided that I wourl work with my DOF= Depth of Feild. Its more of focusing on one object and having the background blurry. Or better yet whatever is in focus is the main subject.

Here is my take at editing. I have been doing it for a while to most of my pictures but I played with the color curves this time. This is also a semi-self portrait. I used a tripod!!

Today my husband brought me these beautiful rose. He found it on the side of the road and put it in an Arizona Ice Tea can. It was a beautiful gesture and made me feel really special. I had to take a picture of it because I knew it would not live long....oh and it smelled heavenly!!

So I am in this photo group online and this weeks challenge was to play with your white balance. My white balance is usually on AUTO so I switched it up a bit and put it on shade today. So here are the pics. Can you tell the difference? The first is AUTO the second is shade.

So today I had a solo session at Vizcaya Museum an Gardens it is one of the most beautiful places you could ever go. The day was very hot and humid and the mosquitoes were monsters but it is a magnificent place,and besides that I got some really good. Shots. Check Out my myspace to see the pics from August 22.

Well the tropical storm is passing over us!!! I went outside today as it calmed to be very disappointed. My entire garden is ruined. Or at least it looks like it. I have examined some of the damage so far but once the soil dries I will see how much I have lost. My bell pepper plants are leaning over along with he chili peppers. My tomatoes tree was dead so I just pulled it out of the ground and I am not sue if my lettuce will make it or not they have gotten too much rain. Ugh!!

Well we have had warning that the tropical storm is coming our way. Hubby played hooky today and stayed home with me to weather the storm. It really wasn't as bad as I had expected just a lot of rain. I love the rain but hopefully its not too much so my plants don't get damaged. My poor dogs have been itching to get outside and stretch there legs. They hate pooping in the rain.

So my cousin left today and after I dropped her off at the bus stop in the morning I came home still not feeling well so I played hooky from church. Agh...I know not good but I was so tired and sleepy just wanted to put my feet up and relax. So today I did nothing. I however did get up in time to make some soy dogs with vegetarian beans it was so good but this is what I did most of the day.

So I haven't cooked in a very long time. Well because I have not been eating meat my meals are much more simple. My poor hubby has been living off pizza and Pollo Tropical. Well my cousin is over this weekend and I figured because she is pregnant I should try and cook. So when I looked in the fridge it showed how long it had been since I cooked this is what I found.

I was so lonely today. Just sitting in the office doing nothing. My cousin is supposed to come over today however its taking her a lot longer to get here than I thought. It started raining and I could not go anywhere. Not to the gym, mailbox, or even to run my errands to the bank. I am tired of the rain already? When will it end. I feel like a caged prisoner trapped behind venetian blinds and glass!!

I stayed up really late online last night so I decided why even go to sleep when I would be up at 5:30am making breakfast for my husband? So stayed up until five and all he wanted was a egg sandwich. So of course I had to make it more than just an egg sandwich. I toasted the bread, buttered it, and add sliced tomato, with ground black pepper and salt. It looked wonderful and smelled delish. What did you have for breakfast?

So its been raining still. I have been accumulating water in my abandoned gardening pots and spill blockers that are mosquito magnets when wet. I need to go and turn them over better yet actually clean them out and place them in the garage until I need to use them. It was so artistic seeing this filled with dirt and water. I just had to take a picture.

So as I was reading to my godkid over the phone. We were reading goodnight moon so after I finished and we got off the phone. I realized that the moon was actually out and I went outside to get a picture. Goodnight moon!!!

My husand is so sweet he always thinks of me and you know what its the little unexpected things tht he does that makes me feel all squisy inside. Well he knows that I am really trying hard to get my photography business on the road and just then my flash drive tells me it had no space. My hubby must have read my mind and when he came home from work yesterday. He brought me a portable harddrive. To save my pictures on. I am so excited and moved the majority of the stuff new hard drive which will reserve for my photography!!

Today we had a celebration with my godchildren. It was so much fun until it started to rain. It ruined alot of the things I had planned on doing! Boo! The weather sucked. However we had a blast in church and the message was perfect for all the children going back to school. I was so excited when it finally stopped raining long enough for us to go to the pool, and to have icecream and cake. I miss icecream and cake. It was sooo good!!!

Who knew my schrubs could looks so good? I supposed they are trying their best to look appealing for fear of being pulled out te ground. I am sure they overheard me talking to hubby about changing the landscaping and removing them to place more managable. But these were actually really photogenic after being watered.

So I waited til it was dark once again before remember to take my picture for the day. Ugh. I tried to take a picture of anything but it was so dark. Well I figured since I always capture the trees from one angle I could change that and try to make it look differently. So here is my try at he tree it would have been better in the daytime without the flash.

So I had been busy all day and night had fallen before I realized that I had not taken my 365 for today. So as I was bidding my mom off I remember and got out my camera. Pretty unsure of what I would take a picture of. The I heard a slight rustle in my hedges on the side o my house I was creeped out and because it was so dark I could not see what was causing the noise so I turned up my flash and point where I heard the flash and look what I got a good clear shot of. Just my luck I guess!!!

Nothing for me to take pictures of today because it was so wet. My dogs couldbarely go outside. I had to say inside and take pictures of the rain on the outside here is my best shot!!

My time on South Beach was coming to an end and my cousins and husband were all there to support me on my first organized photo shoot. So we were all dying of thirst so my cousin RayRay, my husband Oneil, and myself went on a water run while my family was enjoying themselves on the beach. My husband actually walked barefoot he says he forgot his shoes. But he's so Jamaican I am not sure how true that was....LOL

I have been having the absolute greatest weekend. I missed my dogs terribly but this little munchkin on the beach put a real smile on my face. He actually had the audacity to bark at me and was barely bigger than my foot. Once I bent down he started to whimper on his leas. His mother is from Australia and came her on vacation for te summer. She gave me the go ahead to get some pictures of her little bugger!!! I don't know what type of dog he was but he sure is cute!!!

This is what I would call the best place to stay on South Beach. My hubby and I had a blast while down in South Beach. I just had to take a picture of this breath taking building in all its largeness!!

So tomorrow is the big day and I am getting ready to do my first maternity. Shoot my biggest issue is props and scenery. I picked the beach because I thought it would have been nice. Now I think it maybe my most challenging. Nevertheless I am still psyched about doing it. My prop list includes tulle, fake flower, pink ribbon, and baby blocks. Here are the blocks my mom was donating for the shoot but they are not precisely right For a maternity shoot.

[Pose 365] Day 1

So after being bullied by some of my photography friendS I have been inspired to get the Camera out more and take more pictures. So I am going to be doing a little project in which I have titled pose 365. I began today the first of August with a picture of the child that I take car of. His name is Ronnie.

Oneil's Baptism

So it finally happened for my husband at 26 years young. We had been planning for him to get baptised before my wedding but were unable to get on the schedule because the church has to have a few people before they do a Baptism. This was in 2005, however we ended up getting married before he could be baptised. The shortly after our wedding...two months later our Pastor died and we were devastated and it slipped our mind.

Fast forward three years later we have joined a new church and thus are ready to be committed to the Lord once again. However Oneil stilled needed to be baptised. He was a little upset because we could not take the journey together however this was a venture head have to make alone. I had been baptised at 7 or 8 year old, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.

So on this day our new Pastor the Rev. Dr. Curtis T Thomas was able to have the honor. View the pictures of Oneil's Baptism Below.

Nastassia's Baby Shower

So this Saturday the first time I whipped out the camera to get pictures of my family in there natural state was for my cousin Nastassia's Baby Shower. It was a beautiful occasion and may I say that the Mom-to Be was ravishing at this stage in her pregnancy, and even more so a natural in front of the camera. When I say natural I mean....just that I was able get candid shots of her with genuine emotion.
